I have got 2 sticks of OCZ Reaper PC2 6400 Ram (2 x 2GB) and when I opened my case up this evening to test a hard drive, the heatsinks have fallen off the Ram.

Would you send this back to OCZ or would you live with it? Is it safe to leave it without the heatsinks?

It would probably be ok without heatsinks - but - personally I'd RMA it... I've heard of this happening to a few people - I notice with my newest set of Reaper they've added some small screws to prevent this happening :S I'll have to keep an eye on my older sets.

Thanks. There's 2 screws on these sticks but they're above where the ram goes (probably to hold the heatpipe on).

I'll send an email to OCZ asking to RMA it.

Anyone know how long they take to replace it?

Id definitey rma it, someone on here had the same issue with reaper. I suspect this may be one of the reasons that the reaper heatsink design has went through so many changes. I had the pc6400 and 8500 kits on s775, 2 different heatpipe assemblys, now on ddr3 reaper with another heatpipe design.

EDIT: Another forum mmembers problem with reaper.

Thanks, you wouldn't think it'd be that difficult to make a heatsink stay on... I mean, there are plenty of other companies that manage it.

I contacted OCZ and they are setting up an RMA as we speak. A bit disappointing that it has to go to Netherlands though.

Ok, I've finally got an RMA number for my OCZ Ram, but I have just looked (briefly) on parcel2go and they want £22.99 to deliver the Ram to netherlands. I am assuming this is none refundable and therefore OCZ won't pay for it, so who are the best people to use to send it back?

If it's going to cost me £23 to return it, I might as well keep it as it is.
