We are going to be mounting the TV to the wall (the old chimney breast that has been bricked up). Can anyone recommend some heavy-duty wall anchors to secure the mounting bracket on to the wall?

The only thing I've ever put on a wall are pictures, so not really sure what I'm looking for here.

I am by no means a DIY guru but with TVs being pretty light nowadays and standard wall plugs having a surprisingly high load rating, I wouldn't over think it. Definitely wait for not terrible DIYers to contribute as I am not to be trusted :p

I've always used the bolts and plugs that come with the TV brackets that I've bought (normally fairly decent brackets like Invision).

They are normally M10x80mm hex screws with big grey plastic wall plugs - not had an issue even with some slightly older and heavier TVs

These sort of things:

It probably depends if you are having it flat on the wall or using a cantilever bracket.
What sort of thing would you recommend for the latter? Do they not come with plugs? I'll be doing this at some point, soundbar included.. Pretty sure I'm going to drill through to the neighbours lounge :p

you don't need the huge bolts for recent tvs. You could hang yourself off the bolt above. Just make sure you use the right plug for what its going into though. You can just get some m6 or m8 50mm as you are using 6 or 8 in most brackets.

8mm shield anchor bolts!

14mm hole in the wall, split them either side of the bracket, push in the hole and tighten up with a 13mm spanner!

Each one will hold around 50kg so two will be more than enough in brick!

I ended up buying a pack of these and used them to secure the bracket on to the wall. It's not going anywhere

I used T-Bolts for the first time yesterday to mount a TV onto plasterboard.

The pack came with a spade bit and they were the easiest fitting I've used, they work in either single or double thickness plasterboard and you can remove and remount the bracket, very useful for idiots like me that put the mount on upside down!
