*** Heavy Rain - Official Thread ***

Just completed this for the first time and what a great game, had me hooked from the start and really made me feel something for the characters. Shame I had a button accident at the end which had a dire consequence :(

Just finished my first playthrough - just shows you how much your actions do change the ending :D

replaying even one section can dramatically alter the ending....

FINISHED :D

pretty positive ending as well except for one thing anyway  :(

Awesome game - very impressed with the storytelling and plot. Done very well and i liked the ending as well.

2nd playthrough is gonna be verrrrrry interesting hehehe

:D

Got to be honest i did think this was going to fail the idea of having all these qte,s but just finished the game and all i can say is 10/10 for a suspense edge of your seat game like no other .
My mother for instance popped rounded earlier could not believe it was a video game :( then i ejected the disc:D

I'm struggling to do things differently on my second playthrough. already 1/2 way through and no extra trophies...

got the "good friends" trophy after 3 ish scenes this time round. Have found new stuff i didnt catch first time round e.g. boomerang and making ethan cry :D

I played the demo of the crime scene again last night in preperation of getting this game early next week. If it works as well as that level for intrigue I cannot wait to get into this. :D

There are some severely fantastic games on ps3 for anyone on the fence about getting one.
Uncharted 1 & 2 --- uncharted reminds me of how great tomb raider was when it first came along only it is exceptionally better, = both perfect 10's.
Infamous --- like prototype but far better & doesn't seem repetitive & isn't a rushed production, you can just tell it was made with a passion for making an awesome game, great graphics, awesome animation, top notch gameplay = perfect 10.
Heavy rain --- it actually has better graphics than any pc game I played & I've played crysis on max settings @ 1920x1200 lol, some points in the game look incredible & I could barely beleive it was running on my ps3, the faces, animation, the rain, never seen rain look so good in a game, best usage of six axis I have experienced so far, example: putting a lit match out was surprisingly like how you would in reality, this game is special on so many levels and totally deserves some awards for being different and pulling it off so awesome, in a way it is like movies reinvented, I give it a perfect 10 :D.
For those games alone I would say it is worth having a ps3, of course there are many others worth getting depending on your taste but the ones I mention are my personal favourites and definate keepers that will keep me coming back for more.

I also have an xbox 360 but never gets used and not even sure if alan wake could change that lol.
I mainly game on PC and have recently got a PS3. The games you mentioned above are more than enough reason to go get one and you should not forget the other excellent exclusives such as Metal Gear Solid and Demon's Souls which is on import. I have a 360 and have not turned it on since January last year as there have been no exclusives that interest me. I am looking forward to Alan Wake.

Played the demo last night and I must say I'm very intridged so should be buying this. Trying not to read any comments that might spoil it :p

Is anyone having problems trying to load individual chapters once they have finished the game? I wanted to rerun the final chapter but when I load it I just get a black screen and the PS3 hangs and I have to reboot! :-(

I'm amazed at the number of people having completely different problems (or no problems at all!), given that this game is built for a standardised hardware/software platform!

Crazy?!

Eugh, mine still hasn't arrived (Special Edition). Not the first time I've had delivery issues with this particular retailer either.

Completed it last night - anyone still on the fence about this game just go and buy it - it is amazing. My whole flat was hooked on it. Really suspenseful and emotive.
