I have two hard drives.

HD 1 - Vista

HD 2 - 100gb partitioned for linux, 130gb free

I downloaded ubuntu live cd for amd 64 (i have amd athlon single core 3500+)

I burnt it to a cd-r

I restarted and the cd booted.

I clicked run or install ubuntu.

It sounds like its doing something but the monitor turns off and says no signal.

Now im stuck :D

:eek::eek::eek: Help :eek::eek::eek:

This is what I am trying now.

burn i386 alternate text based to disk.

I am now using integrated graphics which is vga

I am then going to try installing that way.
Do I have to install it using a command line interface though? If so I will not manage.

I wouldn't bother with the 64 bit version either.

I put up with debian 64 for the past year & half.. finally got fed up and changed over to i386 Ubuntu.

Oh.. even though your've sorted your graphics issue for anyone else reading..... Choose "Use Safe graphics mode"

It's not like crappy safe mode on windows.

safe graphics mode didn't work when I tried it.
