heklp with installing windows to raid

Hi

Ive just set up my new build.

I have maximus hero and 2 ssd's that i want to raid in raid0.

im trying to get into the raid configuration by pressing ctrl + L but what ever i do it goes straight to bios.

ive set my boot options to dvd then SSD to install windows but i need to set the raid up first.

if i put the windows dvd in it then starts the install process.

why is it going to bios every time i press any keys?

has anyone had this trouble?

Have you set the SATA controller to RAID in the BIOS (default usually AHCI) then save and exit, then you should be presented with an opportunity to press CTRL+L or CRTL+I whatever it is to then enter the RAID controller and setup your array.

ctrl-I if its intel,no sure if its amd board

yes i have set to raid. ive turned quick boot off to incase i was missing the chance.

im going to load default bios and try it again i think.

it seems what ever key i press loads the bios, ive set the post delay to 10 seconds to seeif any other options come up, but as soon as i press a key it loads bios.

don't you see the raid info screen? it should flash up for a few seconds,then you press ctrl-I to access raid console

makesure fastboot isn't enabled as it might skip it

this is embarassing.

one of the sata cables going to rthe ssd had come loose when i was sorting the cables out.

i guess you cant get to the raid screen if only one hdd present.

ive set one up now. 2 250gb ssd make 1 468gb hdd.

ive gone with 128 striping, this the best?

I always use the default size, think its 128K, seems fine for a general use PC and gaming.
