I know that the online servers are now offline (think i am right in saying that) but i found it on that wonderful auction site last night brand new for £2.99 lol

But is HGL worth for a play through in 1 player?. i loved Diablo II and people (maybe WRONGLY!) who have played Diablo seem to reckon its great?

Any thoughts?

Cheers

Ben

It looked different, played quite nicely, annoyed me to hell with its tetris like inventory system.

We tried playing this online and actually had a lot of trouble locating each other to start with. Very poor for what was branded as a new type of MMO as I think except a couple of friends that I played it with I may have seen possibly about 20 people whilst playing it for a month.

Nice one :). will download that and have a dabble :)

as you say, quite a few hours of potential gaming or a boots meal deal/pint...... lol

Currently downloading this myself, I thought it looked interesting when I saw the previews years ago, but heard bad things about it lol

yeah same here, there seems to be a MAMMOTH! marmite situation going on. Metacritic and IGN have anywhere between 10's and 1's on user scores!

all the threads i read seem to end up like Nvidia/ATi ones lol

I am also in the process of downloading some steam demos too so Gamershell is giving me a slow download rate =/

If you can get hold of the patches is might be worth it. I love the game. Just a shame all the best stuff isn't in single player. Also a shame there are no other games like it. Without the patches is very buggy.

Most people who don't like the game are judging it on the state it was in before the patches and it was bad then. There is not enough variety in the maps at the start and most of the different style of maps are only in mutiplayer which no longer works :(

Is it at all possible to play this online anymore? I.e. Asia servers or something.
I enjoyed it quite a lot. Single player would be boring i would have thought.

I loved the game, still play it occasionally. Won't be as much fun with single player only though, since the levels used to scale up mobs relative to the number of people in the team. Still well worth a look for a few quid though.

Edit - I don't think there's any way of getting on the asian servers. You're stuck with single player. Shouldn't have any problems getting the game patched though, I seem to remember there being separate single and multiplayer patches.

I completed the game online with my Summoner. Very good game if you can get over the graphics.

It's basically a 3D Diablo.

Just registered on the Revival forum :)

It had some great features... but overall it felt kinda half baked... there were huge areas of nothing as well like there was much more planned but they never got around to filling it out... and likewise other areas that kinda ended up a dead end that seemed to hint at a broader game.

Me and my bro had some fun with it for a month or so before the novelty wore off.

Demo didnt really give much tbh. Quickly downloaded via usenet and got bored. Is been uninstalled and deleted.
