Hello again! New build advice please :)

Agreed backpanel space on the Z9 is limited which is a shame so you really do need a Modular PSU with preferably slim cables. I have a Cooler Master Silent Pro 500W which is modular and has nice thin black cables.

There are quite a few modular Power Supplies that arent too expensive so when you come to buy the machine make sure you look at the good ones! :)

So your suggesting comparing the Ghost as how it comes to a Ghost with extra stuff nicked from the Z9? I like it :)

I think you'll find you could take out the digital temp display and fan controller and transplant that if you wanted into the Ghost as well.

It wont be quiet as a ghost, as the ceiling of the case is vented as is the base, so noise can escape. Adding some LED fans on the ceiling and floor could look nice though in the dark, if only you had some spare ;)

Well I got three LED's from the Zalman to put in there plus the custom fans with the Ghost that come with it.

Ok then mate, I will look around for some nice modular ones. Ones that are not too expensive without an offer :) I will report back.

Will an Arctic Cooing Freezer 7 allow me to get a half decent OC on the 3570K?? Not looking to go mad as I don't want to ruin my chip but I may want a small OC.

At the moment, my list is at £550 (after looking around...) and I just need to add on a PSU then I will post up on the stuff I have found!

Thanks,
Cam

So I am now getting a monitor too... (Damn this is getting expensive)

I hear BenQ make some good panels and I have one in mind, and I am also getting a Corsair 600w PSU, non-modular unfortunately, but I know Corsair make good stuff so I am willing to sacrifice... :P

The processor has gone up to £184 so that's another thing that's making it more expensive... Only thing I am stuck on now is cooling..

Can anyone help me as to which fans and fan controller to get? and what layout please :) (and a cheap CPU cooler that would allow a tiny OC just incase ;) )

Sorry for all the questions
Thanks,
Cam

:p Yeah it's the Corsair Builder Series CX 600W V2 '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply

Are they alright? or are they not that good??

Thanks Remote Zero, I did see that cooler.. does look nice. Thanks!

Any recommendations on fan layout? I like the look of the BitFenix Spectre fans, £6.50 each and LED, plus airflow is ok :)

My plan was to have a Scythe in the front, and one in the back to whack up when it's hot then Spectre's on the top and bottom (one on each) for extra help?

Thanks,
Cam

Ok well, what do you recommend, modular or not, which is around 600+ Watts and is under £60... I reckon that is the best way to put it :)

I saw that, I'll probably go for it if it's on offer when I order. If not then it will probably be the Corsair... The reason I chose the Corsair is because of their great reputation for parts so even I am surprised if they use cheap parts, but anyway I'm a noob :P

Edit: Saying that, I could buy that PSU now with my money instead of other parts I was planning on buying. Just to take advantage of the offer! I'll see.

As before, find me a bad review.

Obviously its a trick question as there are none.

Johny Guru did one of the 450W (I think its the 450W version will check) and he stated when looking through they used chinese caps rather than the quality industry japanese ones.

Its 430w,

Build Quality (15% of the final score) - now, this is where I have to get tough. I don't compromise on build quality, no matter how cheap a unit sells for. In this case, the soldering is the elephant in the room, even though it's not nearly bad enough to be a problem. I'm going to yank three points for that. Another half point comes off for capacitor selection, even though I have no concerns about Teapo and Samxon holding up over time. I'll pay extra for the real good stuff, though - that's just the way I am. That said, I do like the fact that the AC transient filter was all there and the layout was nice and clean for good cooling. Half a point goes back on for those things. 7.

Still reads as an ok PSU to me.

But then your paying quite a lot of money for a PSU with Chinese caps when you could have a better one for the same price.

For example as he states here "Corsair could've done worse... but the number of capacitor choices that are better are quite numerous."

Thanks Stulid, gives me peace of mind that I have a half decent backup :) Plus a 3 year warranty helps.

EDIT: So what would you recommend that is the same price not on offer Bacon? ... Just out of interest :)
