Hello all OcUK,

Been registered here a while now but never introduced myself, so thought would do now.

My name is Tom, I am from North Yorkshire (York) and am 18. Went through school as the average person, was always average with my grades overall, although did enjoy some subjects and did well in them (History and Geography).

After school went to college and studied Geography, Business Studies, and Biology. Also did a short course in GIS. Only stayed at college for a year as again didn't really enjoy it and never going 'into' it. Passed my GIS, got my AS levels in the subjects.

I'm currently working full time at Tesco, although not ideal, gets me some money while still living with parents and deciding how I want the future to pan out. Currently in the process of progressing through Tesco.

Have recently decided I may apply to become an Air Traffic Controller as this is something that has recently caught my eye and interests me, although the application process is long winded and will be a far distance away just yet.

I recently passed my driving test which was nice for me. Currently sharing a car with my dad as I don't need to use it much. I've never been one for sport, I am however interested in technology. Built a few computers, also broken a few.

So, just a little bit about me and a hello to all of you....

Bang out of order I say !!

This is GD and you clearly are not yet demonstrating enough spite, venom, paranoia and intolerance to be posting here. Come back when you are properly attuned !

:D

(and hi :D )

Don't you need two A-levels to be an ATCO? Might have changed since I looked into it. There are plenty of people on here who will set me right :) Anyway, welcome!

Hey Tom, I'm currently going through the Air traffic control selection at the moment (passed my first batch of tests at the facility just outside Southampton a few weeks ago).

All I can advise for that is make sure you can do Time/Speed/Distance type calculations fairly quickly in your head. Other than that it just seems to be a case of "you can do it or you can't" for the aptitude tests.

Good luck if you decide to go through with it!
