Hello just a quick question

hello all, i,ve just joined so i,d like to say hi to everyone.
ok just a quick question i,m hoping someone may
be able to help me with.
i,ve been trying now to overclock my system now for the last few weeks
but i cant seem to be able to get it past 2.7 if i take it any higher
it crashes on post or just refuses to boot.

but what i,ve noticed is that the motherboard that i have it says that it supports up to 800 mhz memory i did not realize that when i bought all the components so i bought the 1066 ram, now the question i would like to ask is would this hinder the overclocking or not, i,ve tried setting my ram in bios to 800, also tried setting it to 1066 but that did not seem to work
i upped my volts to 1.4 ram volts i set to 2.2 even tried adjusting my
timings but i just cant seem to get it past 2.7

so i thought u guys may be able to help, thanks in advance

hi thanks for your reply, i,m not to sure what stepping it is, its not the go chip though, and i,m looking to try and hit 3ghz.
yes i,ve had a read through a lot of the overclocking threads, they are very useful
