Migration?

Anyhow!

i have a MBP with a 160gig HDD, its the 2.33 model version, im gonna get the ram upgraded within this next month, but i want the biggest possible harddrive, whats the best bet? and also when i do upgrade the hdd i dont want to have to reinstall everything as i have an awful lot on here with it being a studio based mac is it possible to get it all transferred?

Go for a 200GB 7,200 rpm HDD if you want the best speed as well as a bigger space, or if your not bothered about the speed (not really much difference to be honest) then go for a 250GB or 320GB.

These are all sold on OcUK too (SATA 2.5").

The best thing to do would be if you have Time Machine then you can restore from a backup after a clean install, if not then create an image of the HDD in Disk Utility and restore the image after the new drive install.

you have lost me justin mate, not very good with all this reinstall stuff, im still on tiger too, you see ive gotta stay one OSX behind due to software reasons.

but there is ways of keeping all applications and documents, basically cloning my setup now onto a new hdd?>
