Single GPU setup. Ivybridge uses less power, does more clock for clock than SB (so SB overclocking higher is kind of negated) it also has a better IGP which helps quicksync.

If you want to up the GPU you can, the modular 550W PSU could power a 7870 or 7950 if you wanted to.

Hmm why is the GPU that I chose bad? Also i am kind of confused both of you offered me a different motherboard, so which one should I go with? my budget is £800

No it wasn't a bad choice. I used the 7850 as it was a little cheaper and it overclocks well. You chose the 7870 which is better, for a little more as you can see you could have the 7950. Note the GPUs I have used include games and a 3 year warranty.

It's really down to you how much cash you want to dedicate to the GPU. My spec was under £800 and even if you add a 7950 it's still under £800 ;)

Ok, so which GPU should I go with?
MSI HD 7950 Twin Frozr III OC 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £239.99
or
VTX3D HD 7950 X-Edition 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £227.99

Also which motherboard and what PSU, because every build you guys offered slightly varies

As I said the MSI GPU has a longer warranty and comes with a couple of games :)

The Z77-D3H mobo I used is for a single GPU setup. The more expensive mobos (£100+) can run two GPUs, then you will also need to spend more on the PSU. 550W is enough for a single GPU setup...how bothered are you about SLI/Xfire (dual GPUs)?

I would go for MSI HD 7950 also you going to use more than one graphics card?

The MSI seems a better bet, longer warranty and complete with games.

Motherboards, depends on the features you want, will you be looking at dual GPU'S in the future?

As mentioned, the more expensive boards allow for multiple gpu usage, should you wish to go crossfire/sli in the future. Ive opted for the P8 Z77-V pro in your op, as sli is something i will use in the future.

I am not planning to crossfire just stick to 1gpu. Also will this PSU be enough? OCZ ZT 550W '80 Plus Bronze' Modular Power Supply £63.98

and what RAM is better

As other members are echoing my opinion, I would have hoped you might have a lil more faith in my spec which used that 550W modular PSU ;)

Using RAM higher than 1600mhz on this socket is pointless really. Ideally the lower the CAS the better, although in the real world the difference between C9 and C11 isn't really worth worrying about. FInd something you like the price of. I used that Geil EVO set as it didnt look out of place with the colouring on the mobo. Each to their own though :)

by which RAM is better, i meant which size should I get 4gb or 8gb?
