Hello,

Joined the BOINC OC UK Teams for Seti and Rosetta yesterday - I'm running Seti and Rosetta 24/7 on two Win 7 VMs - not great performance, but it all helps. Plus running Rosetta overnight on my main PC (i5 3570K).

I've run Seti on and off for about 5 years - but only on very small low performance rigs (hence my insignificant credit!)...

Just thought I'd say hello and let you know.

Welcome :D

Folding@Home is where all the cool kids are at :p

Thanks guys for the welcome.

I investigated Folding@Home but I on my dual core setup it was only using 1 core for some reason. I read some instructions about creating multiple systray instances to take advantage of both cores - or something like that, but gave up and went back to Boinc. I admit that I didn't take investigate for too long though and I might have missed something.

thats because you need to allow it to use more cores, but as you say its probaly going to be more suited to other projects as folding needs decent cpu power ( not that i know what cpu you even have )

Hi All

I have just entered the DC fray aswell this week. I have my old desktop (water cooled Xeon X3350 w/GTX 580) assigned to F@H 24x7, and I hope I can help the team out.
Right now I can only have this in my bedroom, so ill have to see if I can live with it long term (it will be easier in the summer as the AC will be on all the time, so the heat and noise will be less noticeable)

btw, I am running FAH V7 and FAH GPU tracker V2.. is this worth doing, or should I just stick with V7? not sure if I am benefiting from the 2 clients or not.

cheers

just use the lastest one, running 2 will just try and rob each other for the cpu useage

Yes I was running 2 WU on each slot like that.. So I have stopped the GPU tracker client now and it seems to be much better, sitting at 35k ppd all day when it was around half that before.

cheers
