Hey guys, I'm Tom and I'm new here on the forums.
I've been slowly getting into PC's since I started uni as a mature student a few years back, to study 3D Computer Animation. A subject where system stability and performance is essential!
But I have now really caught the bug!
I started with just upgrading my old PentiumD (NOISEY!!) student support system with SLi PNY 8800GTX's and 4GB of ram and a new case.
But as times gone by and I finished uni, I have completely rebuilt it from the motherboard up, until there is nothing left of the old system but the dvd drives.
I have now started meddling with overclocking but the Ruby Orb cooler that I have just doesn't seem to be cold enough to go above 2.8Ghz really as when I tried 3Ghz, it would seem fine but Crysis Warhead (on full settings) would soon make it drop out of the game. (I think due to temps?! Although that was before I updated the game with a patch so who knows, havent tested again yet)
Anyway I just thought I would share a picture of it at the moment to see what people think. As I will soon be fitting a CoolIt Vantage ALC Liguid CPU Cooler which I am ordering tomorrow! Woohoo!
I would love to go all out water cooling but I just haven't got the money to replace the case as well as get all the cooling kit too. So this will have to do! But I'm Still Excited! haha
Thanks for looking and please let me know what you think! The spec is below. Old 775 setup I know, but it was cheap, (compared to new) its fast and it runs Autodesk Maya extremely well! So suits me just great =)
PS - I know the keyboard n mouse suck, but I just got a Microsoft Wireless Desktop 3000 and haven't photo'd it yet
