Helmet for cycling to work

Hi all

I've ordered myself a cheap bike (£115) for simple riding too/from work and I'd like to order a helmet to go with it.

What is the accepted wisdom on helmets? Is it that anything is better than nothing, or are there ones to avoid? I remember seeing a TV program a while ago where some helmets bought online were scrutinised and some of unknown origin offered very little protection.

Would a £15-£25 helmet from Amazon do the trick or should I look elsewhere?

Is what I currently have, which seems comfortable enough, and is from a reputable cycle manufacturer rather than a no-name chinese import (e.g. like some of the cheap helmets in halfords etc)

Thanks. I actually have a £30 voucher for Decathlon so I think I will look and see what they’ve got.

That second one is exactly the one I was looking at. I’ll pop into the shop so I can try them on to get the right size!
