Helmet mounted cigar shaped action camera - question

Yep, that's what I mean, if you don't remember to turn it on before you set off, then it's a pain to have to hold it down, wait for it to turn on, then press record. The Contour has a nice big slider that you can do with any glove and it'll immediately record, so you can do it while riding quite easily.

The one time I forgot to turn it on and someone knocked me off :(. Luckily the position of the damage on the car clearly showed what happened, but still... would have probably made things easier if I had a video. Oh well, I won anyway :p

After a series of crazy events these last few days, I have decided to get a helmet camera. Preferably a side mounted one, what is the general consensus? I'd only be using it for half hour commutes and would need to record well at night.

Contour Roam 3 or Drift Stealth but I'll recommend the Drift.
I have no problems turning it on and off with thick Sealskinz Winter gloves and it records well in low light - you can see the quality up above of me on black ice.
If I can be bothered I'll upload footage in low light.

For some comparison here's footage from my VIRB last night, mostly dark conditions with the occasional streetlight. Quality is better under the ambient light, rather than just lit by my bike light (Volt800 on medium which is 400 lumen) and oncoming headlights. Bit of drizzle also giving lots of glare from oncoming lights due to the wet lens.
Should be clean language but did have an idiot overtake towards the end. The noise picked up from the VIRB (mostly from the frame & disc brakes) probably very annoying as it's very sensitive to wind/bike noises, yet doesn't pick up much else.
