My catalyst control center shows my core clock at 507Mhz and the memory at 514Mhz is this correct sounds low to me.

Could this be anything to do with a crap PSU

Will be the 2D speeds, will go to proper full speeds when you strat gaming (3D speeds). :)

If i remember correctly, the requested speeds you see on there are the 3D ones, so those will be the ones it will go to.

Hold on your using an 8 pin so your PSU must be up to the job

Well im definately no expert but If I try to run 3dmark06 the PC turns completely off after a couple of mins.

These are the specs
Specification :-

Choose this PSU if you are planning on using one or more of our high powered PCI-Express video cards. Some high end video cards can demand more power than standard 300w PSU's are designed to offer. If you are planning to use 2 graphics cards linked together in SLI mode then you should choose a PSU with 500w or more, this one is an ideal choice.

Total output: 500w
Combined output: 3.3v + 5v: 180w
Max Current: +3.3v=35A, +5v=40A, +12v1=16A, + 12v2=18A
FAN: 12cm 24CFM, 32dBA (Max), 26dBA (Typical)
Safety Certificates: TUV, CE, CB, FCC
Harmonics:IEC61000-3-2 class D
Surge:IEC61000-4-5
ESD:IEC61000-4-2
MTBF: Over 50,000 Hrs. at 25°C
Testing: 100% Hi-pot & Function (Chroma) Tested & 100% Burn-in Under High Ambient Temperature (50°C)
Size: H 86mm, W 150mm, D 140mm

What PSU is it?

The amps on the 12v rails look lower than what one of todays high end setups would really require.
