ok guy just picked up my 2x1gb of pc6400 OCZ plats today, and after putting them in my rig my comp won't post?

the power light just flashes and my gfx card fan goes to max and the hard drives won't spin up?

both sticks work as i've tried this.

any help or ideas?

Up the chipset (MCH and FSB) voltages by 0.1v.

Tho it's quite possible that the OCZ won't run with your Team.

i'd love to be able to up the volts but i can't get into bios lol, i just get a blank screen on power-on.

is there known problems with ocz plats and team ram?

Can't you take out one pair and then enter the BIOS to change the voltages?

The main compatibility problem (if there is one) will be with the chips used on the different memory, not the actual brands.

ok so far tried -
1) booting with 1 set and upping the volts (quite high on ram aswell as cpu and MCH)
2) both sets of ram boot up fine and im making sure they are seated correctly
3) tried setting the timings manually for the ocz ram which are slightly slacker than my team ram

all of these were to no avail i just get the same problem light comes on no hd spin and gfx fan goes to max.

That'll be the issue. The OCZ uses Promos chips and they'll be conflicting with your Micron chips.

The best solution will be changing the OCZ for some PC5300 Crucial Ballistix (it runs fine at PC6400 4-4-4-10).

If you can find more of the PC6400 Team then that of course will be the very best option, but Crucial are owned by Micron and are usually the cheapest way of getting the Micron D9's.

The PC6400 and PC5300 Ballistix are the exact same thing ;)

Btw maybe try setting the timings to Auto to see if it has any effect.

I still wouldn't expect them to run together.

How long is a Team RMA going to take?

Be sure to post the results.

I'll be nice to get clarification on an often posed question.
