help 5700 and vertical gpu mount

hmm
Gpu works fine in the mobo. as soon as i use the cable it does funny things getting bsod now. wondered if it was a pci gen 4 issue so used the other pci slot as its gen 3 but nope. i had this replaced under warranty as we belived that it was a issue witht he cable so this time i just pluged it in with out the mount. just a little lost
 
Pretty sure mines in pci~e 4 slot
Shouldn't matter if gen 3 or 4 slot should be backwards compatible
2 cables in a row kind of says its gpu or motherboard problem
Got a spare gpu or able to borrow one?
