Salutations,
So I recently added a second gtx 680 to my system and I'm noticing a very annoying problem with Counter strike global offensive. Now prior to the second card I was having issues with High CPU usage being regularly in the 80%-100% range throughout, I solved this by using the console command "FPS_MAX 75" (for some reason 75 doesn't cause screen tears but 60 or 55 did). I also played using 1 GTX 680 4x msaa everything else maxed out at 5760x1080 and had no FPS drops or issues, now however since I've added the second card it seems on a particular set of maps (ill get to these in a moment) I seem to be getting some horrible potentially unplayable issues.
Now I've got the second card added I have to use 1 DVI in my second card and 2x DVI in my first card in order to get surround this means It's a lot of messing around disabling SLI in my drivers and switching the cables just to play CSGO. not to mention the latest drivers seem to crash when I disable SLI which is very annoying because the only fix is a restart. Anyway so this whole problem goes like this, I play a lot of demolition mode, now maps which have water such as St marc and lake I get a horrible FPS drop, now it's weird on st marc if I'm facing towards the water; this counts if you play as CT and you are at CT spawn. It's like all of a sudden my CPU usage will go from a standard 30%-50% usage to a constant 80%-100% and it's like having V-sync x1000 the shier amount of input lag is unbearable it actually can take a whole second from moving the mouse left for my actual camera position to move. however if I look away from the water then my CPU usage is normal and it's very playable. lake is different if I look at the house my usage goes to 80%-100% when I'm inside the house it's fine but again input lag up the ass and since it's the main focal point of the map it's practically unplayable. The only way I can lose most of the input lag but still have some is to disable AA and in task manager set CSGO to above normal. even then I still get high cpu usage however the input lag is a lot less and it just seems more playable.
All other maps play fine without a problem and I'm contributing this to a GPU section just because this whole high cpu usage and input lag didn't happen until I added the second gpu.
I've tried forcing AA through the drivers, not limiting my FPS, limiting my FPS using a program such as precision X but nothing seems to work. Partly I put it down to poor coding on valves end.
Any help would be much appreciated, I love playing CSGO and it's very annoying having to constantly disabling SLI, restarting my PC and reconnecting my DVI cable to the top card and vise versa when I'm done.
Kind regards -Skeng
