Hi guys

I have 2 6950's flashed with 6970 shader unlocks. I have crossfire enabled but when i go into overdrive and select each graphic card i see the primary with the clock speeds etc but when i select the 2nd graphics card there is no clock speeds or activity.

Is this normal or do i need to do something else ?

Any help would be much appreciated.

I can't give you an answer, but if you boot with the original BIOSs (just flip the BIOS switches) you should be able to answer your own question.

Tried afterburner but its more to do with whats in the overdrive panel for me that when i select the primary GPU i see full clock speeds when running heaven benchmark yet when i go to the 2nd GPU i see 250 and 150 speeds with 4% activity or no activity and 0 0 speeds so im guessing its not fully using the other GPU.

I did have a BSoD after disabling crossfire then re enabled it again it went straight to BSoD something to do with ati.... but didnt catch it all.

Also i do have the increased FPS in heaven but not in everything that iv tested so far like black ops and bad company 2.

My second 5850 switches off when not required. Run a benchmark like furmark and look at the signs of activity.

Thank you for the info maximusmi2 ;)

I have one slight problem with this new setup now. When i go into black ops with vsync off i hit 91 FPS if i disable crossfire i still hit 91 FPS but shouldnt i be hitting more with crossfire enabled in black ops ?

Im hitting 100 FPS in BFBC2 with crossfire disabled and 200 FPS with it enabled.

I think they are just profiles to make your crossfire cards work better with the games. Just fire the games and see if you can see any difference! :)

forget black ops, its capped at 91fps with vsnc off and 60fps on, if ive read it right then your second card shows inactive in ccc,i had this with my 5770 crossfire what you have to do is run regedit find ulps set enableulps to 0 and when you reboot the second card will now show fan speed and temp, i had to do this every time i installed new drivers

Thank you old_gamer did not know that about black ops and thank you guys for your replies i think i got it all sorted for now :)

Must admit crossfire is not what i expected but it is ok.

Double card set ups always require a bit of work unfortunately...

Yeah but when done right i bet they are great :) 1st time for me so guess its going to take a while to get used to this kind of setup.

Btw Do any of you guys ever see slight flickering in heaven benchmark ? 1 of my cards is fine with no flickering and then the other gets flickering thats when im running them both separate, just curious as to what might cause this ...
