Hi all,
So whilst i like to think of myself as a 'techie' i do come unstuck when looking for parts...well... more specifically how one part relates to another in speed / performance etc.
This is why i am reaching out to my fellow techs for a gpu recommendation.

My current system config:
Intel G3258 Clocked at 4.3ghz
MSI Gaming 3 Motherboard
2x 4gb 1600 Corsair Vengeance Ram
2x 2gb 1060 OCZ XTC Platinum Ram (cause it was spare)
120gb Toshiba SSD
2x 2tb WD Green HDD (Raid 1)
1x 2tb WD Green HDD (backup)
Asus 6970 2gb DC II GPU
VTX3D 7770 1gb GPU
EVGA SuperNOVA 650w G1 PSU

I know that i cant x-fire the two cards being that they are from two different series but i was thinking i might just sell both and get one decent card.

What do i do with my computer?
Probably in this order
Lightroom CC
Photoshop CC
Dirt3
Grid 2
Grid Autosport
Folding@home
Email, facebook etc.

I have both installed for Folding@Home and it has nearly doubled my PPD so can't complain on that front however it did cause some heat issues as it was blocking the other card.

Can anyone make a recommendation on what i could sell these cards for (guestimate) and what i could get for that kinda money that would be better? I'm thinking i should be able to get around £100 for the two and then spend it on something like a 2nd hand GTX670 or would i be better going for a GTX580 or even R9 270x?

If i went new i think it would be something like a EVGA GeForce GTX 750Ti FTW ACX 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (02G-P4-3757-KR)EVGA GeForce GTX 750Ti FTW ACX 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (02G-P4-3757-KR) or MSI GeForce GTX 750Ti Gaming OC 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (N750Ti TF 2GD5/OC)MSI GeForce GTX 750Ti Gaming OC 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (N750Ti TF 2GD5/OC)

or AMD
Asus Radeon R7 360 Strix OC 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics CardAsus Radeon R7 360 Strix OC 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
XFX Radeon R7 360 "DD Dual Fan" 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (R7-360P-2DF5)XFX Radeon R7 360 "DD Dual Fan" 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (R7-360P-2DF5)

I'm so confused with the amount of choice there is out there!

I would REALLY appreciate all the help i hope to get :-)

The latest versions of Adobe CS uses OpenCL which runs better on AMD hardware. The DiRT series are AMD sponsored and IIRC CMAA in GRID2 only works on AMD GPUs and Intel IGPs.

If I were you I would first try the HD7770 on its on first though.

Get a 2nd hand 7950(R9 280) 0r 7970(R9 280X) instead of a 270X. The 270X is slower. You should be able to get a 7970 for around £100-£130 or the 7950 for around £80-£90. These are much better than your AMD 360 choices too.

Ah ok, so it would be better to stick with AMD? Despite having an Intel Processor? I will be upgrading it to the i7 when I have the funds too.
I will have a look at the 7000 series and the R9 280, 280x cards too. I presume the x versions are better?
