well first time im posting in here! basically my mates upgraded his water cooling and has given me his old Thermal take big water set up for free! i have a chieftec dragon and what i want to do is screw the rad to the top of the case and run the pipes through two holes that i will drill, what i want to know is do i need to get some rubber rings to stop the hole slicing the tube when its gone through? like an open can kinda thing?

*S

It is purely cosmetic though, a filed down hole wont cut his tubing like he asked about.

Although it does make a bodged up job look professional by using some trim I will admit. :p

I recently done this with my P160.Blowhole trim does make it look cleaner imo ;) Was easy to do,i used a 2p to get the hole the right size ,then used a dremel

Thats quite nice rob, what case do you have? Is it easy to cut through steel/aluminium with a dremel?

As Yewen says,it's an Antec P160 & the dremel cut throught it with no problems, took about half an hour, took me longer to get the edging on

What did you use on the dremel, and was it a dremel or a cheap rip off one?

Been trying to find someone who has used a cheaper one as I am in need of one for a few small jobs.

I use a dermel clone. It's a Draper multitool with flexi cord, used it for loads of case mods without any problems ;)Has a 100 accesories, just like the dremel. I think you can pick it up new for around £25-30.

The gigabyte 3D aroura has those kind of things built in.

Yes,i'm aware of that, but don't like the case very much, great idea from Gigabyte though,Twin 120mm blowholes at rear as well.My next case is either a V1000 or V1200 :D Can't quite make my mind up

Think i had one of those Draper multi tool things - just be careful all the aluminium dust doesnt get in the motor as i think thats what caused mine to burn out quite quickly.

Hi guys,

I'm very much new to this case modding malarky. I was looking at multi tools as I intend to water cool a new Conroe come the day, wanting to put the rad on the roof of a PC-7, and found this cheap and cheeful offering:

http://www.toolfinder.co.uk/catalog...=1282&osCsid=817f04d7640674526f8dc309436c4238

Does it look reasonable? And how does the circle/hole cutting actually work with these tools?

Cheers,
