Help a newbie out?

I appreciate all the replies as im very much a first timer. Just wondering what the difference is between the cpu I chose and the Intel ones being suggested. I'm at work currently so can't take a gander. In terms of extra price will I get the same amount of cores as im just trying to get more bang for my buck and keep it around 500. Would it be a good idea to upgrade the stock cpu fan too?

Amd bulldozer just sucks man..pure and simple , Intel is how you knock the ball out of the park. i3 , i5 or i7 are great.

the I3 2100 beats an 8150 in most of the benchmarks.

Dragon Age Origins - 1680 x 1050 - Max Settings (no AA/Vsync)
8150 - 118.4
2100 - 123.4

World of Warcraft
8150 - 77.7
2100 - 94.1

only things the 8150 is better for is encoding if using a program that can use 8 cores.

its also loads cheaper.

ive listed a 2120 above which will get even better than those results and your looking at the lower clocked 8120 which will give even worse than the 8150 so its really a no brainer.

If you can afford to stretch to a £25 aftermarket cooler it will make the world of difference as well as you can overclock it a bit.
