Greetings, firstly, I am new here so if I have posted this in the wrong place please re-locate and accept my appoligies.
I have a Gigabyte GA-MA790X-DS4, bios version v6.00pg with a Phenom x4 9850 black and an Nvidia 8500GT 1GB.
I purchased some new ram for it which is 4 x 2GB DDR2 PC2 8500 1066mhz, CL 5-7-7-25 all is working fine with 1 problem the ram is only running at 800mhz, as seen in the POST at boot. After a surf about on the WWW I was advised to change the MEM CLOCK setting in the BIOS to show 1066mhz, done that, re-booted, 1066mhz showed on POST then BSOD.
Got the manual for the motherboard out and got stuck into that, changed a few more settings as advised by others on different forums with negitive results. So I am now totaly bamboozalled, and confused.
I have cleared the CMOS and re-set the BIOS back to fail safe settings.
Just hoping that some body here may be able to throw few tips my way so I can get the full 1066mhz out of the RAM.
When it comes to overclocking and jiggerey pokerey in the BIOS in regards to timings and voltages I am as green as grass but I do have good understanding of the basics.
Thanks, in advance, for your time.
