Alright, here's the story. Being a student, who obviously has a limited budget, I tend to buy a pretty good phone and have it last for several years (blackberry being not so good for this, and dying after less than half a day of any use at all), emphasis on it being future proof!

I've recently been amazed at the Samsung Galaxy S series, and after my parents ask me each year on my birthday what I want, and I simply end up saying I don't want anything, I think I could call in the favour this year.

I do really like the look and feel of the S series, having tried my brother's S2 and played around a bit on my friend's Note 1. I'm not sure about taking the few hundred quid plunge into getting the Note 2. Especially since 4G will be coming out late this year (apparently), I'm not sure how future proof this would be.

Money is obviously a factor regardless if my parents are paying, I don't want to bankrupt them, and I'm unsure about buying a phone from the site which cannot be named, (obviously they must have a few hundred rep, very high positive feedback etc etc) but what could I do if things do go pear-shaped in this case, and what other precautions should I take?

I really would love to have the Note 2 (especially having a history of pretty abysmal phones.. BB9000, k850i, xperia X2..), but I really don't know if i should buy a crap phone right now and wait until 4G is out and see how it fares, or take the plunge soon? And the price of it is also a bit steep, but it seems like a very good phone that can last for a long time. :(

Sorry for the long post!

Most likely not because the whole family is on three, and my sim only plan is perfectly fine for my needs (especially since it's at a reduced price because of my family and I basically get an extra gig of internet for free)

Had a look at the specs and reviews, but the rather limited capacity worries me, especially when I had a 32gb microSD card dedicated to music only for my previous phone. And no microsd cardslot :(

My father just muddled everything up for me now and said that he could get the LTE version of the Note 2 for £350, not even £100 more than the Nexus 4!
