Help ... advice needed before purchase!

OK so I have narrowed down my choice of new monitor to the Viewsonic VX2450WM-LED or the Dell U2311H. I can get them or almost the same price, with the Dell being a few squids more.

I'm going to use the monitor primarily for gaming, and then internet browsing, lots of reading / studying.

After much research the Viewsonic seemed to be the best TN panel for the price.

I'm just a bit worried about the Dell and reports of the uniformity across the screen not being so great, the not so great brightness, and whether it would ghost a lot in games?

What should I choose?

Have you looked at the Viewsonic VX2260WM also ?

And the LG M227WDP .

Both 22" and very good monitors for the price.

Viewsonic is £130 from amazon and LG is £186 Delivered. (I have the lg and i use it with xbox 360 and its amazing , I have also owned the viewsonic i recommend)

So take a look

The VX2450 should be £180 and no more. That's over £80 less than the Dell, unless you have found some strange refurb or uber deal. The uniformity of the Dell is much, much better than any TN panel. As far as I am aware it is limited to slight luminance uniformity which is difficult to detect and is not a colour uniformity issue. You may be thinking of the U2410. Yes I've got a good deal on the Dell, it's a few bucks more than the Viewsonic, here in New Zealand where I live

So you would take the Dell over the Viewsonic then, considering the primary use is for gaming?

Haha I didn't realise you were a kiwi (should always look at that location section, ha!) I think that's why the price confused me. I have responded over on my forums but ignore the bit about the price - obviously in New Zealand if you can get a good deal on the Dell then I'd go for it. I am also a New Zealand citizen myself - my mother was born in Christchurch.
