I'll be moving into a new house soon and I want to set up a small home network.
I know very little about these things and would appreciate some advice.
From the router (which will have 3 outputs), I plan on connecting one cable direct to the downstairs TV (as it's literally 10' away). I then intend to run a network cable about 25 metres to the understairs cupboard (which has a double power socket). I'm planning on putting a TP link "unmanaged switch" (<<< have I used the correct term?) in the cupboard and plugging the cable from the router into that. From the TP link unmanaged switch I want to run two cables to "Wireless access points" so I have wifi all over the house. I then want to run three cables to the bedrooms for TV's/Desktop PC's (one TV doesn't have wifi).
My questions are:-
1) Do I have the right idea? Is using an unmanaged switch the way to go?
2) Any suggestions as to what switch would be suitable? I believe the WAP's need POE? How about this one for example? https://www.tp-link.com/uk/business-networking/poe-switch/tl-sg108pe/
3) Any suggestions as to what WAP's I should use/consider? Would these be okay? https://www.tp-link.com/uk/business-networking/omada-sdn-access-point/eap225/
Any help/advice appreciated.
