Moved into a new flat a few months ago. It's a listed building which has no externally opening windows (just a side door) but does have an air filtration unit to help circulate air around the rooms. There is no user manual and I've had no joy tracing the unit online, so the obvious step to take is ask OcUK!

Here's the unit:

Even my brother-in-law (who is in the building trade) can't help - he's seen similar but knows nothing about this one.:(
I just want to make sure it is set up to run as cheaply as possible...:D

Clare probably just tested the unit.

Anyway, I am right, it is a heat recovery ventilator, the fact that it has filters is incidental.

What you need to calculate is the m3 of your living space and aim to change that air at least 3 times an hour.

Calculate the throughput of your unit, possibly by sticking a bin bag on one end at 50% speed and work out how many seconds it takes to fill (or something more scientific perhaps, like port diameter related to fan speed/throughput).

Once throughput related to fan speed is known, set it to empty the house 3/hr.

macca will probably update those figures, but that is essentially what the box does.

Correct, but someone at Clare most likely reconise it, as it's their equipment is used to test it.

You could always remove the cover & see if there is a makers plate lurking inside.

I know I'm just reading specs off a sheet here, but 3 ACaH sounds like a lot, compared to say me relying on draughty window seals to do the same thing.
I'm wondering how you can tell if you are changing the air enough? Other than thinking the room is a bit stuffy or whatever.

Cheers all - it's the manual I need ideally, as I've had a tinker on the control panel and it set something but haven't got a clue what I did!

I'll take the cover off when I get a spare moment and have a snoop inside it.
