Help after installing gtx780

Hi I just installed my new evga gtx 780 classified today I'm having a slight problem with it but. On start up I get just a black screen with "b2" in the bottom right hand corner the screen stays like this for around 2 mins then windows boots up and everything is fine. Does anyone know why my pc would be doing this?

My spec is


Msi gd55 intel z68
I7 2600k
Gtx 780 classified
120gb ssd
500gb hdd
8th Kingston ram
Corsair enthusiast tx850w
Corsair h100
Asus xonar essence sound card

Do you have the latest BIOS for your mobo?

No I've never updated my bios. How would I go about doing that?

This is for the B3 variant but make sure you know what yours is prior to getting the BIOS and follow the instructions. Most want a USB stick and I think it is the same for you.

I have never tried using an external HDD but if it is recognised in the BIOS, I see no reason why not.

Easy enough to do in the BIOS and most have something like EZ flash or similar and a couple of clicks and it is done.

I updated the bios through msi live update and I'm still getting the black screen for 2 mins before windows will start up

Hi,

in this case I would suggest to remove the overclock of the CPU if you are running one and also remove the soundcard and have a look if this error will still occur.
Have you already tried replaceing the card in the system and try also a different slot?
Please make also sure the power connectors are 100% connected.
Have you connected the PCI.E power to the card native of the power supply or do you use adapters for this?
