I posted about this a little while ago, unfortunately things haven't rally improved. My router (D-Link DSL-2640B) is basically a poor one, but i'm having problems. When I play games and my brother uses a program like iTunes, I lag up every 30 seconds or so for about half a second, then the game catches up very quickly. Now in the old thread I posted I had a bit of help and I thought it fixed but it didn't really do anything in the long run.

That's what the QoS page looks like on the router menu. The Protocol drop down list gives me UDP, TCP and ICMP. I keep trying this but it really doesn't seem to make any sense. My ping is also quite high, if his PC is off then I get around 35 ping when, as an example, on battle.net, but its jumps to around 300 when both PCs are on and he is downloading and the obvious annoying lag every few seconds. Basically I want to give top priority to Computer Games (preferably on both machine, but he doesn't game so it doesn't matter if its limited to this machine really) and limit torrents and downloads like that to take the much lower priority. If I need a better router to make the QoS work properly then so be it, but any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance and just say if there's anything I have missed out.

Have you tried creating a priority rule yet or is it that you are stuck on what to create?

You are going to have to work out what IP addresses / ports are involved in the various things being used and assign priority accordingly, right?

very probably. the main reason why i'm totally lost is because this QoS page is totally different to al lthe ones shown in the guides and manuals. The IP addresses i can find out no problem, the port probably with difficulty, but the thing is I want the rules to work for all games, not to have to reset them when i changes games etc. if its possible.
