Where do I start.. Well I got given a gigabyte motherboard from someone on here, I went and got it, popped a CPU in and all other relevant parts and it fired up fine first try, installed windows, great! I turned off the PC, boxed it all back up and left it until I could afford to get a case to out it in. Got a case, put it all in, fired up fine but no display and only one of two fans spinning.. Popped the card into my PC, fired up fine! So I thought the psu may have been the culprit, got a new psu off the MM and put it in today built it out of the case and still nothing from the second fan. I have a spare motherboard that I tried it all in and it works fine in that.

So I'm guessing it's the motherboard that's at fault here, any ideas to why it would suddenly stop working? You can see all the fans spinning up, h55 pump start to work just no second fan on the gpu. I'm baffled to why this has happened?

I updated everything apart from the bios when I had it running first time as I didn't experience problems or anything so thought it would be fine!

Yeah sorry, I totally forgot to add that in.

Gigabyte am3+ can't see the model on the board.
AMD fx4130 with h55
Hd7850
4gb corsair ram
Ocz 650w psu/corsair vs450.

The second fan starts to spin and then stops after about 1/2 seconds

Well im dont think ive ever seen or heard about a HD7850 that runs semi passive or what etc.

Updating the boards BIOS would be my first move using Qflash found within the BIOS.

Would the ocz 650w psu be okay with my 290x? Because I cannot get the any display to show to even get to the bios. If I don't get anything from my 290x then I'll definitely know it's the board!

Your not like using a DVI-VGA adapter? the 290 DVI ports are all DVI-D so you cant convert them.

We've got power!! Well to the second fan that is.. But still no display, I'm starting to think this is a gpu problem. But it worked earlier.. My poor back up card :(

This is in a different motherboard now too*

How would I go about this? I was given the board and have no original receipt or anything. The board is a Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3. Was hiding under the GFX card. I'm guessing out of warranty too

RMA through gigabyte UK, there is a serial number on the 24pin ATX connector, I think you use that.

At least try it, the worst that can happen is the say no and you are in the same position you are in now.
