Help.. Always directed to same server in CSS

I haven't played CSS for a while so i thought i would have a quick game but everytime i try and join a server i get drirected to either an empty or fragmasters server :confused:

I've tried joining servers through the steam browser and xfire but always get the same results

Any ideas?

check your filters in the server browser.

Check your config. Sometimes some servers screw with your config and put stuff in their that sends you to other servers. I had this happen to me before. Solution to the problem is make your config read only so Servers and admins can't toy with it.

My browser filters are fine, I've checked config and there's nothing there that could be causing it i've also made it read only.

I even tried deleting cstrike folder and it does connect to different servers now but every now and again it will direct me to an empty or fragmaster server.

I must admit, this is so weird. Have you tried searching the steam forums for any similar issues?

Your best option may be to do a reinstall.

If you're trying to join a full/nearly full server sometimes you get re-directed to another of their servers which has space.

try deleting your config failing that youll have to reinstall

dont forget to do the autoexec.cfg also

Thanks guys i've tried all your suggestions so all i'm left with is a complete delete and install, Did try steam forums but only got 1 reply basicly telling me to join a server by connecting through the console which isn't ideal.

I'll re-install over the weekend and post results!
