Hi everyone

My first post to the forum and I'm a little nervous about it. I'm inexperienced when it comes to the pc and components - I do try and read up on things but embarassed to say most goes over my head :-( I would really like and appreciate some advice.

My pc specs are as follows:-

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 "Energy Efficient SLACR 95W Edition" 2.40GHz

Asus P5N-E SLi nForce 650 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

8 Gb Memory (4x Crucial 2GB 800MHz DDR2 PC2-6400)

ATX-400TD (400W) PSU

Gigabyte GeForce GT 240 600Mhz 1GB PCI-Express 2.0 HDMI

2 x Hitachi Deskstar 7K1000 1TB SATA-II 32MB Cache

Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB 7200rpm SATA 3Gb/s 32MB

HP LP2065 monitor - (with HP LP2475W 24" on order for future dual screen usage)

Compucase 6CS3 Black Midi Tower

I'm currently running Windows 7 and have several external hard drives (I'm into graphic/3D arts which are storage intensive). I've been having problems with stability problems lately ie freezing (all drivers and Windows 7 updated regularly) and now my pc doesn't boot up (no signal to monitor, internal LED comes on, fans spin, no beeps). I don't have a local pc repair shop unfortunately and am housebound anyway.

Would I be looking for a new psu (one with more power) and possibly a new motherboard? If so would some kind soul please advise as the best way to go as I am totally confused as to what to buy/compatibility.

I know I'm probably asking too much for someone's time/expertise here but any advice much appreciated
Josie.
