Help and advise "poss knacked card"

Hi,

Quick one really, have a friend asking about his new card, im not to sure but think his card maybe on the way out, he get's the following but it always seems to be at the same point and at no other times

In heaven 2.1

On the second pass of the dragon he get's a vertical gash in the picture both sides of the dragon, about 2cm across going almost top to bottom.

On the fly over across the rope bridge at night, the patch of grass just on far left side always sparks green or yellow before loading the grass.

Other than that the test is fine, temps good, fan good nothing beyond normal


The only other thing that happens is sometimes in games, could be any game 4 he listed to me, he get's textures just turning red, could be small or almost all the screen, it can be very quick or last if he keeps it still, once he moves it goes back to normal??

He has a

i5 @ 4g
4gig ram
ATI 6970 (real one, not overclocked) 11.1a drivers

Any help would be great,

Try Furmark for a good card killing application.

Ok,

Not really sure what to do with it, but i got it running on his comp, stability test ran it for 10mins at 1080p max temp 92'c avg temp 88'c fan got upto 44%.

Big fur ring, all looked good for the ten mins, how long should you run it for?

Also ran the bench avg frames 88, still looked normal the whole time, could it be drivers?

Run the burn test on full hd and all full settings

Ok ran it for 10mins with the following settings,

Stability test
Xtreme Burning Mode
Displacement mapping
Post fx
1080p
8x MSAA

Result Picture fine about 36fps avg Max temp 90.c

Does that seem ok?

Hi,

Sorry about the self bump,

I ran Heaven again after all of the above last night, still the same gash and sparkle at the same points.

Any thoughts on what is making that happen, also I ran the drivers on max quality settings so no ATI optimizations, still the same thing.

My only other thought was in the bios to the motherboard there is a pci voltage thing I believe with the following possible settings,

700mv
800mv
900mv
1000mv

Which one should it be on? It’s a gigabyte P55A-UD4 (1556) chipset

I get the same anomolies in the same places, it's the coding in the benchmark, nothing to worry about. If your games are fine don't sweat it.

My games are all fine and I'm using two 460s in SLi clocked as well.
