I am having terrible difficulties getting my P5N-E to work with a new 2900Pro. All I get is blank screen and a mobo siren indicating graphics card error. I have tested the 2900 (and all of my other components) with another mobo and they works fine.

Does anyone who owns this combo have any ideas? Is there some trick to getting them to work together?

PSU is a Corsair HX520 and runs the 2900 fine with another mobo. It seems to be some conflict between the mobo intself and the 2900.

Just thought from your other thread.. have you tried resetting the bios MANUALLY, by unplugging the motherboard from the mains and putting the jumper on the CMOS clear for several minutes? (then replace and try restarting the pc).

Yes. CMOS reset muliple times.
What version BIOS are you running?
0401, 0608 and 0703 all tried last night (with full CMOS resets afterwards).

Clearly the card and motherboard and no go, best donate the card to me .. you know.. for your peace of mind ;)

Seems strange it won't even turn on though. Is the corsair atx connector shorting out anywhere on the motherboard where oversize connector atx isn't needed? Have you plugged everything the additional connector into the motherboard? Have you removed USB peripherals, and any sound card to ensure it's not a conflict?

I removed and rebuilt everything so that just Mobo, CPU, RAM, PSU and GC were connected. Did not work.

My 8800GTS 640 overclocked to 648/1720/2000 (core/shader/mem) works absolutely fine in the P5N-E. I am sure my overclocked GTS needs more power than a stock 2900 so it won't be a PSU/PCI-E connector issue.

The 2900 runs fine on both of my Corsair and Antec (380W:)) PSU's with another mobo.
