Rough system spec: Core i7 920-D0, 6GB Geil PC3-17000, Radeon 4870X2, Foxconn bloodrage gti motherboard, 2 XSPC single bay reservoir/pump units, 8 Apache 120mm fans, all of which is powered by an 800W BFG unit.

The problem: I'm getting distinctly odd startup behaviour. About 1 time in 10 it starts without a problem. Six times in ten it posts but the display is badly corrupted with random lines and blocks over the screen. If this happens ithas about a half chance of getting into Windows 7, at which point the porblem either vanishes or manifests as corrupt text. The remaining three times in ten see it just sit there with fans spinning, LEDs on and no other sign of life. I've got my own suspicions about this, but would like second opinions:).

I would firstly check your memory is ok and set to the recommended settings in your BIOS.

The next port of call is your graphics card. There's no easy way to test this other than replacing it with a known working one or placing your card in a another machine. Try also re-installing the drivers too.

Lastly, check you PSU is supplying the correct stable voltages. http://www.huddysworld.co.uk/index....rking&catid=40:techie-talk-hardware&Itemid=72

Huddy's advice is spot on - the only thing i would add (if you haven't done it 100 times already) is re-sit the gfx card and unplug and plug in all your connections to the MB, gfx, HDD etc (also the connections at the back of the PC).

Also try running with one stick (rotate sticks or slots if necessary) just to see if you get any immediate improvements - and then troubleshoot accordingly.
