HELP! Asus p5w Overheating!

Hi,

Just got my Pc a few days back on got it up and running smoothly only to find that the asus "pc probe" software is reporting @ 50c the motherboard is a asus p5w DH Deluxe with a intel dual core 6600 CPU

Does anyone have this problem ? Is this too hot for the motherboard to run ?

Any help would be greatful,

Its normal, the sensor is under the south bridge which is the hottest part of the board.
ASUS say its safe to run upto 65C.

No real probs.....as he said ^^

I took off the heatsink (as many others have) and cleaned it up, applied fresh AS5 and then reseated it and temps now hover around 40-45 (even sat under one of my x1900XTs) ! Can do the same for the NB if you feel brave enough
