Guys,

Thanks for all your help the other week, I was all decided on upgrading my present dual 6800GT SLi set up to a new single 7900GTX....but then OC didnt have the BFG one I wanted in stock!

Its now back in, but the 7950GX2 is now on the streets...arrrrrggghhh!!

I'm not looking to spend an absolute fortune wth Vista & DX10 due within the year so my dilema is do I;-

(A) Go for a single 7900GTX for the time being (with the option to add a second in SLi mode when (if!) the price drops.

(B) Go for a single ATi X1900-XT card (with no upgrade path).

(C) Go for a 7950GX2.

(D) Go for a single 7900GTX and at the same time upgrade my existing Winchester core AMD 3500 CPU (already a bit overclocked) to a dual core 4400 / 4800 CPU.

I have a Tagan 480w PSU which seems to handle the dual 6800T set up okay but I guess I'll need to upgrade the Bios on my Gigabyte K8NXPSLI mobo whatever.

Likewise my monitor is a 19" Viewsonic so I'm limited to a max resolution of 1280 so no point striving for the max at resolutions I can never achieve!

Any advice please - it seems that whenever I make my mind up, somebody post something new to create confusion and I can feel my brain swelling...!!

Cheers,

The best Value for money if you are worried about vista is the X1900XT for £247

Should play everything at 1280x1024 at max settings therefore you dont need to spend any more
