I recently just bought a 3D-HD monitor. I have it plugged into my old graphics card using a DVI cable. When i bought my new card I started using an HDMI cable instead.

Either using the new cable or the new card added the black borders on my desktop which i removed with the scaling options in the Catalyst control centre. Despite this a large number of my games still have the borders.

Anyone know how to get rid of them?

There is an option in the control centre under digital flat panel properties that mentions image scaling but all but one box has been faded out.

The box that i can tick/untick is

Enable GPU scaling.

No idea if that has any affect.

gpu scaling will fix your problem, and you want to tick "scale image to full panel size".

also using your screens native resolution will solve it, ie if you have a 1920x1080 screen you need to select 1920x1080 in the games graphics options for the game to fill the screen. this is done by default with lots of games but some leave it to you to select your native resolution.
