Hi

I have this setup at the moment

Intel 6600 Quad Core
4GB 6400 RAM
8800GTX Graphics Card
Windows 64bit

And whenever I try running a significant program such as a game or even trying to install something windows pops up with the BSOD.

I tried taking out 2gb of ram and going back to windows XP and that works with no probs. But when putting the 4GB in the problems start.

Anyone have any advice?

Thanks.

Couple of things: have set up the right timmings and voltages in the BIOS.
You might need to up the MCH (northbridge) voltage by .1 or .2 volts.

If that fails try mem test each memory.

try memtest and see if one of the sticks is faulty, looks like that is the case.

hey thanks for the replys,

i'm gonna try and up the voltage on the memory but at the moment its on AUTO. so what is a good voltage to put it up too?

thanks.

The memory should have a sticker stating timmings and voltage.
What memory have you got.
