Help: Brand new PS3 slim won't sync controller

Evening all,

Just got my hands on a ps3 slim.

Followed the instructions where you turn the console on, wait for it to boot up, connect the controller via usb and press the ps button...

...this is where nothing happens, all I get is 4 flashing lights on the controller and that is it.

The ps3 wont go any further, won't even go into the initial setup.

Can anyone help me please?!

4 flashing lights means it's charging but not sync'd. Try letting it charge for a bit. If your pc is close by then just charge it on that.
 
There is a little pin sized hole on the bottom of the DS3, push that in and retry, this should reset the controller.
