Help bring an old gamer into the future with a new machine!

I used to be a big gamer back in the Half Life 2 Era but haven't really got back into it as whenever I would buy a game like COD (COD 4: MW was the last one I played!) it would be pretty much unplayable on my laptop.

So after a few beers last night with a friend, I decided to get back into it and buy myself a gaming rig for around £1000-1200. As a big fan of OC UK I definitely want them to build and overclock it, maybe even watercooled if the budget stretches that far!

I already have a Dell monitor which runs at 2048*1152 so it would be great if any game can easily run at this resolution.

If anyone can help me with some potential spec ideas that would be great.

One question, is the Nvidia option (like the 670) on par with the Radeon 7950 card?

Good sized SSD, GTX 670, plenty of RAM and a high OC make it a well balanced gaming machine. Reasonably priced too!

Is it worth going for an additional GTX 670 in SLI or not worth it for the kind of 1 screen gaming I will be doing?

The monitor is a Dell SP2309W.

Guess it is an odd res but from what I have read this afternoon most games will run fine. Although this could be a good excuse to get a new monitor too
