Hi, I need some help...
My computer is from overclockers around 2-3 years old and the spec is:-
Motherboard --- Abit IP35Pro
Memory ------- 4Gb Crucial Balistic
Processor ----- Intel Quad Core Q6600 2.4 @ 3.4GHz
Graphics ------ EVGA GEForce 8800GTS 320Mb
Op.Sys ------- Windows Vista 32 bit with all Service Packs

My problem is that whenever I view any sort of video content from the internet (Broadband) I know that I will soon get the dreaded blue screen of death (The usual error message mentions nvlddmks.? or similar, sometimes just stop). I have completely reloaded the operating system etc a couple of times with no help. I have done all the usual memory tests etc.

I suspect it could be the graphics card? but not sure how to test this.

Do I just give in and get a new up to date PC or is there any way of curing this? any help/suggestions would be most welcome!!!
Andy

Hello mate & Welcome to OcUK.

No you don't give in & Yes there is Plenty you can do.
When was the last time you took the GFX card out & blew the dust from between the fins etc ? Same with your CPU cooler & case ?

It could be just a build up of dust making the GFX card overheat, It could be the GFX card has borked, Dodgey drivers, Virus/malware.
At worst you could replace the GFX card easy enough as the rest of the system can still cut it.

Thanks but...

Thanks for that but seeing as the the system is overclocked for the current components do I need to adjust things if I put a new graphics card (and even a SSD & Windows 7). Also if I upgrade the motherboard BIOS to the latest one will that screw up all the overclock settings? How would I restore them and what to for the new hardware???
