Please can you help me spec a gaming rig. My friend wants an AMD cpu powered rig and my last AMD build was during the Athlon 64 days so i would appreciate the help.

£600 budget. Don't need a case, just the internal components.

AMD cpu
16gb ram
750w PSU min
rest anything you guys think is best for £600 budget

Thanks

16GB RAM is over the top for gaming, 8GB is sufficient. Will he be video editing etc? Also ideally I'd go for Intel > AMD, as the upgrades paths are more open compared to AM3+ (which is pretty much a dead socket)

Is 750W for future SLI/Xfire support? A decent spec should be able to run on a good 550W PSU

.

This should play the latest games at very high settings @ 1080p easily :)

FX 8320 vs i5 4440 (4670k in this benchmark but the two are similar at stock so it is comparable) - http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/837?vs=697

Generally the i5 is faster, and in the future you should be able to drop in an i7 with no problems :)

What case will all this be going in to?

Agreed, and looking at that the CPU + mobo + RAM specced by doomed comes out more than the H81M-K bundle so there's an obvious choice!
