Hiya Everyone,

Well i'm at a bit of a loss.... i'm a bit of a noob when it comes to building computers, but i want to have a go at it anyway.

I know roughly which direction i want to go in, but getting there is another matter.

I'm looking at spending around £700 ish, i already have a monitor and case, but pretty much everything else i need.

The machine is just going to be used for gaming, primarily WoW!

The things i do know are:

It must be Intel (i'm leaning more towards the dual core, as the more people i speak to say i should wait a while before going with the core 2's and corresponding motherboards)

It also must have an Nvidia card (i heard the 7300 GT is meant to have a very good price to performance ratio)

And i was also thinking of a Gigabyte motherboard as again, all the people i have spoken to all recommend them for performance and reliability.

Also 2gig of memory, corsair/crucial.... not sure, but something that will work well with the other components.

Like i say, i know which direction i want to go in, but i am getting lost with which is compatable with what and worried i might make a mistake in something i buy... so i'm looking to you guys to help me build a decent PC if you can.

Any help is greatly appreciated and feel free to suggest something over what i have put above. I would rather have my information ripped appart than make a bad purchase.

Again, aslong as its Intel, Nvidia and 2gig of memory i really don't mind.

Thanks in advance

Ray

Thanks for the replies everyone, much appreciated :D

Yeah, sorry to all those ATI fans, but i really want to stick with Nvidia.

I basically need everything. Only 2 things i have are the monitor (which i'm using now) and the case (safely stored)

The case is the Coolermaster Wave master and i'm using a 19' Benq FP91E flat.

Machine i have right now - shouldn't admit this, but its a 6 year old Dell 8200 :D
Up until now i did have a 5700 Ultra, but the fan started making a nasty buzzing and its now totally fried.

Rather than just upgrade the card as i know i should do, i need to build a new machine. I've been wanting to do it for a few years now but just never had the time.... i do now.

I need everything really, power supply, cables, fans, HD, CD/DVD/RW etc

The age old Dell is going to be kept as just another machine on the network to surf on.

Cheers for the help everyone
