Hey guys, been a while since I built my last pc (12yrs) and my current pc I bought on here (E6600 duo) has seen better days. With GTAV saying quad core min that's my goal. I already have 1x120gb ssd and 1x60gb ssd and a GTX560ti which I plan to use for the time being. If someone could be so kind as to spec me one including a new 120 ssd and a 1tb hdd also a new case.
Also, which would be better AMD FX or Intel i5/i7 ?

Yes I already own Win 7 64bit, thanks for the reply. First one looks spot on. Would you not recommend an AMD FX for gaming then? Going by price I could get a nice 8 core for a smaller price than the i5. Im trying to think what will last me the longest as I don't get a chance to upgrade often. Probably upgrade GPU in 2 years or so.
Thanks for your ideas, much appreciated!

You're welcome. Intels are expensive right now but for gaming the i5-K is superior (Intel cores are much faster) and there's a much better upgrade path than with the older AM3+ platform.

So i5 it is then, might even try for an i7 if I can get it at a decent price or a special bundle offer. Last time I built a pc it was an amd2700 clawhammer so im a bit rusty lol Must admit I have had no bother with the intel I have at the minute but remember I had bother with my last amd. Cheers for all your help. Time to fill up the basket! :D

You're welcome. This Week Only offers change on Wednesday morning (PSU price will go up again. Of course, other stuff may come down lol).

For i7's check Bundles > Discount Motherboard Bundles > and both Intel bundles (Promo and the normal). The ones in the Promo are OEM so have no cooler, also 1 year warranty on CPU.

I would advise against the i7 for gaming, it will give absolutely no benefit.

Not only that, but the i7 would also add incredible expense. For gaming get the i5 and if you're going to spend extra spend it in the GPU department as that's where you'll see the biggest improvement in gaming performance.
