Help. Can I make these wheels fit with spacers?

So I just bought a 53 plate 318ci M sport with 18" mv1's on. In germany I gotta run winter tyres which are pretty pricey on 18" so I bought a set of 16" steels with decent winter tyres off a 1 series.

Anyway I went to fit them today and the rears fit fine but the front touch the calliper alittle meaning they wont turn. From what i researched 16's should fit this model as its the 3litre verson that has the bigger brakes.

Im guessing its a offset problem?

Here is a pic of details stamped in rim.

Its where the big holes are that the calliper touches. Could spacers be a option here? I feel it just needs to push the rim out further to allow it to clear the top corner of the calliper.

Decent spacers that are hub centric should achieve what you need. You may need longer wheel bolts though if insufficient thread is going into the hub.
