My car has been stolen, so I was thinking of cheering myself up by buying a cheapish DSLR.
I have been interested in the 24mp Nikon for some time as it seems to have megapixel future proofing. My 1.5mp Fuji and my 5mp Minolta A1 are now obsolete due to low pixel count and my Canon G9 is just hangng in there.
I can get the Nikon D3200 with the kit lens for about £360 or I can buy a Canon 550D with a 2 kit lens deal for £450 but this only has 18mp and is 3 models away from current.
The Nikon has a cut down feature list (no bracketing) but the latest technology, whereas the Canon has a full set of features (expanded by Magic Lantern) but possibly dated technology.
I believe that Nikon kit lenses are better than Canon kit lenses.
I have a nexus 7 and have seen that I can connect to the cannon and view the image and control the camera from the nexus. Nikon has a much more restricted Android application.
Can anybody help. I have been going round in circles.
My tripod was in the boot of my car when it got stolen and I had a bit of a fright looking at the price of a replacement.
