Need help, I want to buy a new body but can't quite stretch to the 5DMKiii... I was originally set on the 6D to finally go FF but I have recently been looking at the 7D MKii and I'm a bit tempted with the advantages of the better focusing system.

I currently have a 60D which I'm just about fed up with having no micro adjustment for focus and pretty much does not focus in low light at all!

What would be your choice? I don't do sports or wildlife but do spend allot of time photographing the kids which have a habit of not staying still!

6D!

The image quality is far better than the 7D2. I've been in a similar situation but not managed to chNge yet. The 7D2 was my first choice but when you compare the 2, the 6D is far better!

I have the 7D MkI & was tempted to upgrade to the MkII....

I ended up with the 6D & keeping my 7D MkI, best of both worlds :)

I love my 7d2 but unless you need the 10fps/advanced AF then a 6d will probably suit your better :)

I use a 6D and have run a 40D / 50D combo for a period of time with it as well. For out and out quality the 6D wins vs crop but the difference (imo) is never as massive in the real world as people rave about for most stuff. Not saying it's not good, it's fantastic with the right glass in the right hands :).

If you're not aiming to run and gun sports or wildlife at high fps then the 6D would be my choice. It'll cope well with kids (you get good at slowing down to capture the right shot vs spray / pray) and give you stellar performance. Add Magiclantern to it and you'll be very happy.

Unless you are desperate, why not wait a few months and then pick up a new 5d3 when they start to discount for the incoming model (rumoured to be this year). If you are someone that would buy grey then I saw they are £1550 for the body now with a 3 year warranty.

6D. If you need better AF then stretch to a used 5D3 which aren't much more than new 6Ds these days.

I'm never going back to crop & going to pick up a 6D myself soon.

Thanks everyone! I think I have decided on getting the 6D, then might see if I can sell my 60D and pick up a 70D as a second body and I can keep some of my fave crop lenses!

If you ever wanting some reach then stick to crop. 6D doesn't have the pixel density to compete With an APS-C camera.
