One of my Sky 1tb HD boxes has packed up so I tried looking on sky website to see how much it costs these days for a new sky HD box but I can't find them listed on sky website :o

Does anyone know where the prices of the sky boxes are on the sky website ?

:( looks like they done this to help push people to there high priced SKY Q boxes..

I don't what a sky Q box as there website is saying it £12 extra per month ..

I imagine that's the case, although I'm sure if you ring up, endure the consistent up selling trying to convince you that you need Sky Q, and make it though the other side, you can probably still get a HD box. It's either that or try and pick up a used one on here.

It's an extra £12pm for Sky Q MS which gets you the cheapest upfront cost to upgrade. If you're just looking for a straight swap just ask for an Engineer visit, and ask for a discount on the charge too. You'll easily get one for £30. The Engineer will swap your box for a Sky+HD one easily. 1TB boxes are very thin on the ground atm though. You might get a 2TB, you might get a 500GB one.

Interested in this.

Sky do keep trying to get me to insure my equipment. I can easily fix or replace everything except my single Sky+HD box myself so I've always said no.

I've worked on the assumption that if the box did die Sky would make me some sort of deal to get it replaced rather than loose me as a customer. Is this a reasonable assumption?

I'm in a cabled area so I could go back to Virgin if Sky didn't want to play ball, but I'd rather not.

Yes they can book you a service call, standard price £65 but if you have a bit of a moan about the cost £30 for an Engineer visit and resolution, including replacement box if required and a 90 day warranty.

That's nice to know. So even out of contract, with a now ageing Sky+HD box, I could be back up and running for £65 (or less if I have a moan)?

I suppose as an out of contract customer I should be calling them and threatening to leave unless they do me a deal? It's just all so potentially time consuming and grubby!

Yes definitely, because you're presumably paying full price in that case which is crazy. What's grubby about getting the best deal available?

Do you have multiscreen? I have upgrade offers for Sky Q for existing customers but without multiscreen.

Or rather I did. All the previous offers have been removed and I only have one offer for new customers ATM. I will update the sticky.

No multi screen, just the single box. I'll keep an eye on your offers sticky.

I had multiscreen but they gave me the rubbish non recording hd box. I spent £10 on a second hand hd+ box and put the same viewing card in it. Works fine, records, pauses etc. Best £10 ever spent.

Last time one of our HD boxes packed up rung sky had an engineer out next day straight swap via their Sky Protect program, Few £ a month but don't have to deal with the upsell when you ring them up.
